Cigna will not require pre-authorization for prescriptions to treat opioid addiction problems. Some doctors and patients are saying that pre-authorization for these prescriptions are hurting patients because if there is a delay on getting the medication, the patient could die from heroine withdrawals. However some believe that the prescription must be authorized so that the patient will not get addicted to that. Now that Cigna doesn't require pre-authorization, patients will get the treatment that they need fast.
